For Children Fighting Cancer
Inspired by the work our founders were out doing, Nick and Brittany Smith of Smile for Brooklyn decided to team up in an effort to spread smiles and awareness for their non-profit.
Following their daughter Brooklyn’s diagnosis of DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, an inoperable pediatric brain cancer) the Smith’s prepared for the battle ahead. On April 27th, 2017, Brooklyn Smith’s battle came to an end.
As a part of their mission to spread awareness, the Smiths and the team of Smile for Brooklyn decided to join forces in delivering cookies. Not only did one SMILE cookie go in the box of every delivery that left the Cookies for a Cop HQ event, they also delivered smiles to the children at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Medical Center (CCHMC) receiving treatment. We were blessed to be able to join them for this first delivery.
The following year, the Smiths and Smile for Brooklyn delivered not only to CCHMC but also to Children’s Hospital in Lexington, KY.
We seek to take this expense off the organization and cover the funds needed to allow them to continue to do this. We then seek to expand this in Brooklyn’s memory and allow for other families who have children to do the same. During such a dark, hard time, let’s give these children a reason to smile and give the families who have suffered, a way to give back and remember their loved ones.
